Stripe gives BOBs an authoritative view of how revenue is flowing—so they can handle billing work the moment something changes. When new invoices, subscriptions, payments, or updates occur, BOBs can automatically take action: generate invoices, spin up or cancel subscriptions, update invoice details and line items, and keep customer records synchronized. If a payment fails or an invoice goes sideways, BOBs can respond with targeted follow-ups (like issuing replacements, adjusting billing, or coordinating the next billing attempt).

With deeper event awareness, BOBs can also manage exceptions without manual chasing—track and act on refunds and write-offs, respond to disputes, and reconcile payment state using payment intents, checkout sessions, payouts, and balance history. This unlocks end-to-end use cases such as automated subscription lifecycle management, self-healing billing operations, refund and credit workflows, dispute triage, and revenue reporting that stays accurate because the source of truth is always in sync.
